Legislative Working Group to Discuss Foster Family Homes

OVERSIGHT OF HOME COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES WORKING GROUP

NOTICE OF MEETING

At the Monday, November 25, 2013 meeting it was discussed that the following areas of concerns will be presented to the Oversight of Home Community-Based Services Working Group Members at the next meeting scheduled on Monday,   December 2, 2013.

Department of Human Services (DHS) will present the following information regarding the process on how contractors are awarded and receive funding to perform specific service through the Request for Proposal (RFP) process:

1) Criteria and requirements used by DHS to select a contractor to evaluate Community Care Foster Family Homes; 2) Criteria used by DHS to evaluate the contractor; and 3) Evaluation tool used by contractor during inspections of Community Care Foster Family Homes for certification and re-certification. – Sandra Joy Eastlack

Presentation on Adult Day Care and Adult Day Health – Tracie Romualdo, Amelia Casamina-Cabatu      

Social Model vs. Medical Model – Ron Gallegos

Appropriate Placement and Payment Parity – Ron Gallegos  (Possibly looking at the Aging and Disability Resource Centers to do assessments)

Review Federal and State definitions and Pay Schedule of Various Care Settings – Ron Gallegos

The public is welcome to attend the meeting.  However, no public testimony will be accepted.  The public can submit their questions to the staff at the meeting for the Oversight HCBS Working Group Members to consider at a later date.
