SUPPORT HB1252 TO RESCIND THE NATIVE HAWAIIAN ROLL

From FreeHawaii February 6, 2015

Newly elected Office of Hawaiian trustee Lei Ahu Isa has gotten a bill introduced in the Hawai`i legislature to abolish the Native Hawaiian roll and fire the roll commissioners. The bill would then transfer the assets of the roll to OHA.

You may read the bill, HB1252, in its entirety here - www.TinyURL.com/HouseBill1252   You may see the most recent status of the bill by going here - www.capitol.hawaii.gov/ and then typing HB1252 in the search box.

HB1252 will be initially heard in the House of Representatives in the Ocean, Marine Resources & Hawaiian Affairs and Judiciary committees. It is vitally important that you email your support of HB1252 today to the chair of the committee, Rep. Kaniela Ing reping@Capitol.hawaii.gov who will decide whether or not to hear the bill. Urge him to hear the bill.

Then contact legislators who sit on the committee that will hear this bill -

Here is a sample email message to use -

Aloha,

I support the passage of HB1252.

The creation of the Native Hawaiian roll was done without the input or consent of the overwhelming majority of Hawaiians.

The roll contains a massive fraud - the majority of the names on the roll were transferred from other databases without the consent or prior knowledge of those individuals to make it appear as though the roll has the support of most Hawaiians.

That is a lie. It does not.

Moreover the roll is designed as a “back-door” path to US federal recognition which Hawaiians overwhelmingly rejected in their testimonies at the US Dept. of Interior hearings throughout Hawai`i last summer.

Because of all this I ask you to vote in favor of HB1252.

Mahalo.

We will be forwarding further information over the next couple of weeks as HB1252 is heard by the House Finance committee and then goes over to the Senate to repeat the process.

We ask each and every one of you to kokua by sending email in support of HB1252 to the legislators listed above and then forwarding this email to everyone you know.

Lei Ahu Isa has fulfilled her campaign promise to introduce legislation to dissolve Act 195 and Kana`iolowalu.

Now itʻs up to all of us to do our part to get legislation passed so that Act 195 is repealed and the Native Hawaiian roll is dissolved once and for all.
