QNHCH EXPANDS VACCINE TO TIER 1B

News Release from Queens.org, 01.12.2021

Queen’s North Hawai’i Community Hospital (QNHCH) is now scheduling vaccinations for tier 1B.  According to the state and the CDC, tier 1B includes those 75 years of age and older, as well as essential workers defined as workers whose duties must be performed on‐site and require being in close proximity (<6 feet) to the public or coworkers, and are essential to the functioning of society.

Examples of essential workers include first responders, corrections officers, emergency services dispatchers, critical transportation infrastructure workers (harbor and dock workers, public transportation, etc.), critical utilities (energy, water, etc.), teachers and childcare and educational support staff (childcare, early education, k‐12, post‐secondary), those staff essential for federal, state, and local government operations, and US Postal service employees.

Call QNHCH at 808-881-4668 to make an appointment.

The QNHCH vaccination clinic is located on the QNHCH Waimea campus in the Annex building; appointments are available Monday-Friday.

We appreciate the community’s patience as we accommodate the high volume of requests.

Those not in 1A or 1B are asked to follow the news regarding vaccination availability for other groups.

More information is available from the state at https://hawaiicovid19.com/vaccine/ or via phone 808-586-8332, Monday-Friday, 7:45 am – 4:30 pm, or email at doh.imb.vaxcc@doh.hawaii.gov.
