Detroit-based Website Takes Aim at Honolulu GOP Treasurer over ties to Radcliffe, Gambling
By Selected News Articles @ 9:12 PM :: 8075 Views :: Maui County, Education K-12, Energy, Environment

Anonymous Detroit-based website “The Verifiable Truth” (TVT), in a series of articles posted last week, takes aim at the connections between Honolulu County GOP Treasurer Liz Hata-Watanabe and gaming lobbyist John Radcliffe. Uber-lobbyist Radcliffe, often at the center of the action during any legislative session, was intimately involved in picking Cabinet appointees for Hawaii’s Democrat Governor Neil Abercrombie. Hata-Watanabe chairs Radcliffe’s pro-gambling advocacy group, Citizens for a Better Way.

TVT’s masthead reads: “It's all verifiable: archives, resources and stuff they might not tell you.” The site describes itself as, “A comprehensive archive chronicling the activities of Motor City casino syndicators (Marian Ilitch & Family, Michael Malik, Herb Strather, etc.); their associates, partners & affiliates; and the commercial & Indian casino schemes they are bankrolling in Michigan (Port Huron, Flint Township), Hawaii (Waikiki), New York (Long Island / The Hamptons), and California (Barstow).”

Here are links to the six stories TVT has posted.

First is a response from Hata-Watanabe to TVT.

These are TVT’s five stories about Citizens for a Better Way and Hata-Watanabe:
