Last Candidate Eric Marshall Enters the 2012 Elections, due to withdrawal of a former candidate

News Release from

Honolulu, HI, June 8, 2012:  Although the June the 5th candidate filing deadline has come and gone one last candidate has been added to the 2012 Election. Today Eric Marshall a former 2010 State Senate candidate for District #10 will be submitted by the Hawaii Republican Party to replace Douglas Lupton for the newly redistricted Senate District 10 race. Per state election law a party has up to three days to find a new candidate to replace after a filed candidate who withdraws from an election. Marshall has no primary challenger in the Primary Election and will face off against incumbent State Senator Les Ihara Jr. in the General Election. The Senate District 10 seat represents parts of Moili’ili, Kapahulu, and all of Palolo Valley.

Eric is a former Moili’ili and McCully Neighborhood Board Member who wants to represent the everyday citizens who are tired of politicians from both political parties that seem to be involved in politics for the power and influence rather the greater good of their community. From his humble childhood beginnings as the rare Japanese boy from Waianae and Nanakuli Eric relates and understands the current plight of the local families trying to make ends meet through to the end of the month. He pledges to minimize government waste and lower the high taxes that harm the poor disproportionately. As a IT/Compliance Officer at Hawaiian Electric EFCU he also has a very clear awareness and knowledgeable of the negative and harmful effects that excessive and unnecessary laws and regulations have on businesses and job growth.

Marshall will be at the Pearl City State Elections at 11:30am to submit his official candidacy papers that will also include a letter from Hawaii Republican Party Chair David Chang authorizing the replacement.

All media and news outlet are welcomed to record the signing of papers and the official swearing in of the last candidate of the 2012 election.
