"Go back to the oven," she shouted, calling for the counter-protesters to die in the manner that the Nazis used to exterminate Jews during the Holocaust.  You need a big oven, that's what you need," she yelled.  Protest organized by WWP-front ANSWER.

Lopez, a state coordinator for ANSWER, admitted there is a problem with anti-Semitism within his organization's ranks. But then he went on to call the supporters of Israel across the street "barbaric, racist" Zionist terrorists.

"Zionism in general is a barbaric, racist movement that really is the cause of the situation in the entire Middle East," Lopez said.

Local investors in Hawaiian Telcom deal disclosed

ILind:  When Hawaiian Telcom filed for bankruptcy, Hawaii investors who invested in the Carlyle Group’s takeover of the company lost an awful lot of money.... The list reads like a Who’s Who of Hawaii business.

SB: OHA, Courts defy request to cut budget

Clyde Namuo, OHA executive director, said the OHA board wanted to maintain its budget, saying reductions would harm native Hawaiians.  

(OHA cuts would HELP native Hawaiians)

Budget cuts would cause a "severe decrease in identifying and perpetuation of constitutionally protected traditional and customary native Hawaiian practices," Namuo said in testimony.

(For instance there may not be funding for OHA to continue efforts to block juvenile drug treatment facilities on Kaua`i)

Kapa‘a man found dead at falls was witness to shooting

Troy Paul Crawford testified in July in an attempted murder case related to the June drive-by shooting at McDonald’s in Kapa‘a....Crawford was one of four alleged customers who were exiting the restaurant at the time of the shooting, three of whom testified.
Taekyu U's trial is currently scheduled to begin Jan. 15, but there are indications that it could be delayed. He remains free on $250,000 bail.
Attorney Daniel Hempey, who represents 17-year-old Brock Alan Reyes, also accused of attempted murder and allegedly the driver of the vehicle, said Crawford’s name was included in police reports.

Two bottling plants planned for Keaau

"It is going to happen," local businessman Robert Hamilton said Monday of his plan to open a $1.5 million Keaau bottling plant by summer.
Water, fruit drinks, alcoholic fruit drinks and possibly vitamin supplements would all be made on a 31.2-acre site located near Hawaii Electric Light Co.'s power plant, according to Hamilton's development application.

WHT: Progress promised on Alii Parkway, Hokulia bypass

County and development officials say the Mamalahoa bypass through Halekii Street should open next month, construction should begin on the Alii Parkway by the end of this year and the last leg of the South Kona bypass could be done within about two and a half years.
