DJOU AT CANDIDATE FORUM: TACKLING HAWAII'S HIGH COST OF LIVING

News release from www.Djou.com September 8, 2014

Former Congressman Charles K. Djou attended a candidate forum this evening and explained his plan to to tackle Hawaii's high cost of living.

"Hawaii has America's highest cost of living and I am committed to reducing this burden that makes it so hard for so many people to make ends meet in our community," stated Djou at a candidate forum this evening.  "Much of what drives Hawaii's high cost of living is our government.  That's why, if elected to Congress, I will fight hard to eliminate regulations that drive up Hawaii's costs, including exempting Hawaii from the Jones Act and Obamacare."

The Jones Act has led to monopoly shipping and exceptionally high costs for transporting goods to Hawaii residents.  Obamacare has led to an increase in healthcare premiums for Hawaii residents at a rate five to six times inflation.  Djou supports exempting Hawaii from both of these regulations.

Congressman Djou attended a candidate forum tonight in Mapunapuna.  All of the major candidates for Governor and Hawaii's 1st Congressional district were invited.  Djou was the only congressional candidate who appeared at the forum.
