- Pacific Club
Discussion Moderated by Keli'i Akina, Ph.D., President of the Grassroot Institute
After years of financial insolvency, the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, which operates our state hospitals, is plagued with lay-offs and closures. Medical services for thousands of Hawaii residents, many of them in poverty, are now threatened.
Governor Ige recently signed a bill allowing successful private hospital operators to bid for a lease agreement to operate the hospitals on Maui. Our panel of experts will address the possibilities and challenges ahead.
An expert panel will feature:
- Mayor Alan Arakawa
- Dr. David Ulin of Kaiser Permanente
- Dr. Nicole Apoliona of the Kula Hospital, Maui
- and Dr. Gerard Livaudais, of Hawaii Pacific Health
We hope you can come participate in this amazing event!
