Blue Jay Wireless and Aloha United Way Partner Up to Help Homeless in Hawaii

News Release from Blue Jay Wireless, LLC

CARROLLTON, Texas, Jan. 3, 2017 -- Blue Jay Wireless, in Hawaii, partnered with Aloha United Way of Hawaii nearly a year ago and that has afforded them the ability to reach out to many who may qualify for Lifeline service. It is another way to meet the needs of potential customers, in addition to a local event or other location sites for distribution. The partnership brings two recognizable organizations together in the community to help a population that is in need in the state of Hawaii.  Blue Jay has also partnered with many other non-profits and human service organizations in the Aloha State. Hawaii is a paradise to many, but it still has a number of homeless that struggle from day to day to keep up with society's demands.

In Hawaii, human service and government officials associate Blue Jay as a potential communications solution for them and their clients. Blue Jay Regional Manager Hawaii, Patrick Campbell notes, " In essence, we are doing business that is in line with federal, state, and local government initiatives and efforts to end poverty and homelessness in America, and specifically, Hawaii. What an awesome thing."

Aloha United Way of Hawaii recently approached Blue Jay Wireless Hawaii and proposed a tandem financial contribution to support their upcoming efforts to give a waterproof zipper pouch to those that are literally homeless, without the assistance of a shelter, during the upcoming 2017 state-wide Point in Time Counts/Surveys (PITS).

On January 31st, HS Case Managers from all over Hawaii will be in the field supporting these efforts. The homeless people they encounter in the field during PITS will receive one of these pouches.  PITS counts are done each year to help State Government locate and count the "literally homeless" and attempt to educate them on resources, as well as collect information that is instrumental to better understand and manage their efforts to end homelessness in Hawaii.

Each pouch will sport the Blue Jay logo to let them know who they can turn to for communication service. The pouches will include information about Blue Jay Wireless, including website address, local phone number, and some event site locations they can find Blue Jay Samaritans and representatives. Aloha United Way of Hawaii will provide other resource information in the pouch, as well. All in an effort to assist the homeless with information and potential access to important resources, including cell phones and service.

This is a great effort by Blue Jay and the Aloha United Way of Hawaii to help in the fight to assist the homeless and end homelessness altogether. Blue Jay sets themselves apart as the socially conscious distributor of technology. They have become a beacon of hope in Hawaii for those who need a way to stay connected in a fast-paced world. Blue Jay Wireless serves Hawaii, as well as 17 other states and territories, providing Lifeline service to those who qualify.
