Navigating risk at Hawaii's public pension system

From Grassroot Institute, May 2, 2018

Hawaii’s public pension system faces $12.9 billion in unfunded liabilities, a huge risk for government employees and all Hawaii families alike.

Navigating that risk will require a look at best practices across the nation, says Thom Williams, executive director of the state Employees’ Retirement System.

Williams will talk about this and more on Monday, May 21, as part of a discussion on “Navigating risk at Hawaii’s public pension system.”

Sponsored by the Grassroot Institute of Hawaii, the luncheon event will be at the Hawaii State Capitol, room 325, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and be moderated by Keli‘i Akina, Ph.D., president of the Grassroot Institute of Hawaii.

Please join us for this important discussion.

Admission is free and includes light pupus and sandwiches. For more information, please call (808) 591-9193 or e-mail info@grassrootinstitute.org.
