Andria Tupola surges from behind to take big lead in GOP race

Star-Adv July 15, 2018:  State Rep. Andria Tupola has surged ahead of her opponent, attorney and former state Sen. John Carroll, in the Republican primary for governor, according to the latest Hawaii Poll.

Some 41 percent of likely primary voters said they would vote for Tupola if the election were held today, versus 28 percent who said they would vote for Carroll. Another 8 percent of likely voters said they would vote for political newcomer Ray L’Heureux, while 23 percent of those surveyed said they were undecided.

STATEMENT ON THE STAR ADVERTISER POLL FROM THE CAMPAIGN OF ANDRIA TUPOLA FOR GOVERNOR

News Release from Tupola Campaign July 15, 2018

“We are very excited to announce new polling released today by The Star Advertiser showing Andria leading the pack! Along with gaining favorable name recognition, Andria leads by a margin of 13%.

In 4 short years, Andria has worked with her community to bring real change.  She intends to bring that same vigor to the governor's office and empower people across the state of Hawaii to address our systemic problems with a new perspective.

Andria is well poised to make substantial gains as voters meet her and hear her vision for Hawaii.  “When I heard Andria speak, I was floored. I heard something in Andria that I’ve never heard in a politician to date.  I still haven’t heard anyone talk the way Andria does. I think what I’m most impressed with in Andria is her complete, fresh, grassroots approach to solving problems,” said community member Rob Hardisty.

Her deep roots to Hawai’i and love for all communities in the state highlight why Andria is the candidate of choice for governor.  We look forward to winning August's primary and pulling across the finish line in November!”
