Make-A-Difference Month cleanups start this weekend

News Release from City and County of Honolulu, October 1, 2018

Honolulu – The Storm Water Quality Branch of the Department of Facility Maintenance is happy to announce a series of community outreach events as part of Make-A-Difference Month.

Clean-up events for the entire month are scheduled to start on Saturday, October 6, at 8 a.m. in Mānoa, and will be hosted by the Hawaiian Electric Company (see schedule below).

The clean-up events also coincide with Make-A-Difference Month, which has been proclaimed for October by Mayor Kirk Caldwell to create awareness of such water quality issues as non-point source pollution, while also encouraging residents and city government to collaborate on community-cleanup events. The month of October also promotes the city’s Adopt-A-Block and Adopt-A-Stream programs.
