Rep Jessica Wooley admits her van involved in thefts of campaign signs, blames volunteers

CHAIRMAN KA'AUWAI RESPONDS TO THEFT OF CANDIDATE SIGNS BY REP. JESSICA WOOLEYHONOLULU-- HRP Chairman Jonah Ka'auwai issued the following statement on reports of Republican candidate Richard Fale's campaign sign being stolen by Rep. Jessica Wooley's volunteers:

"I'm not surprised by the Rep. Wooley's shameless political tactics of removing her opponents signs, replacing them with her own and allowing her volunteers to do so in her personal vehicle.  Although sign theft is a typical  Democrat machine tactic which normally happens under the cover of darkness and in secret, Rep. Wooley and her team did so with her opponent's supporters gathered right across the street.

"What is clear is that Democrat incumbents are running scared.  Not only are they ashamed of their legislative records, which hold them accountable for raising taxes and reckless expansion of government, but they are also facing principled and fiscally responsible Republican candidates like Richard Fale who have the right solutions and vision for Hawaii's families."

Mahalo to all of you who joined us sign waving or honked your horns and waved. as you drove by.  It was a great turnout and reception from drivers yesterday and this morning.

The support was especially motivating after the news I received last week.  I had mentioned one of our supporters saw a car stealing our campaign signs right outside our campaign kickoff last week at Hau'ula Elementary.

I'm sorry to say that police reported the car was registered to my opponent, Rep. Jessica Wooley, and her husband. When police called her, she did not deny her car was there and said it must have been a volunteer, but that she didn't know who it was.  She also claimed to have only taken the signs down and left them in front of the house, but as we reported, the signs were stolen and thrown into her van.  Someone mysteriously returned signs at the place they were stolen with a note saying the property caretakers didn't want the signs up.  But these were not the same signs stolen from the property and we confirmed with the property caretakers that they indeed supported our campaign and wanted a sign in their home.

We've had over $1,000 in signs stolen so far.  Many of you live in or have family and friends in the 47th district and she is still your Representative.  I encourage you to call Rep. Jessica Wooley at 864-0400 or email her at repwooley@gmail.com and tell her you want leadership in government and integrity from your State Representative.  Ask her to please return any signs her campaign has stolen.

I am committed to representing our home, friends and family with the values I was brought up with, values we all share.  Mahalo for our continued support and please consider helping us with a contribution of your time, talent or treasure.  We are only 26 days away from the election and I cannot win without you.  Email me if you have a few hours to spare and would like to help or make a secure online contribution by clicking here.
Mahalo nui loa,

Richard Lee Fale

Candidate for HD 47
