From Americans for Prosperity
Hawaii citizens are faced with a $500 million increase in taxes in the next 2 years to cover the $22 billion budget for the same period. It is clear the Hawaii government desperately needs to hear from commonsense taxpayers like you.
That is why I am happy to introduce the co-chairs of AFP Hawaii, Jay McWilliams and Laura Brown.
Jay and Laura bring their years of experience watching and reporting on the actions of the legislature to help folks like you take action in limiting wasteful regulations and increasing economic freedom.
Jay graduated from the University of Hawaii with a degree in journalism and has worked for numerous magazines and business news papers. Jay also helped establish a daily online newspaper dedicated to making government more accessible to the public.
Laura is an experienced reporter, advisor and analyst on Hawaii legislation and has devoted her time advocating for limited government and free market principles in Hawaii more than a decade. Laura's advocacy efforts have resulted in a direct improvement for school choice for children with disabilities, and proven her ability to align with and work towards national think tank initiatives.

Jay and Laura both live in Hawaii and look forward to working for increased economic prosperity in Hawaii.
Here are three things that you can do to help Americans for Prosperity and Jay and Laura get a strong start here in Hawaii:
- Send Jay and Laura an email at email@example.com and welcome them to our team. They would love to hear your ideas on how we can work together in Hawaii.
- Forward this email to three friends who live in Hawaii and ask them to join AFP and receive updates on what your representatives and senators are doing.
- Consider contributing $15 or $20 to Americans for Prosperity's Hawaii chapter to help provide the resources necessary to lead a strong state chapter.
Thank you for all your efforts. Together, we can make a difference in Hawaii and across the country.
