UPDATE: The Redistricting Commission Friday Aug 5 voted 5-4 on party lines with Judge Marks as tiebreaker to adopt the "H1 Alternative" and reject the "Wheeler Plan." This puts Hanabusa's home inside the District. Ironically it also adds 1000s of Republican voters to CD1.

CB: Six Hawaii Reps Could Face Incumbents Next Year
AP: 6 incumbents put at risk in HI's new district maps
Six state representatives — four Democrats and two Republicans — would face off in next year's elections if the proposed redistricting maps are approved.
The boundaries pit two Big Island Democrats against each other: Jerry Chang, D-Piihonua-Kaumana, and Mark Nakashima, D-Hawi-Hilo. On Oahu, Rida Cabanilla, D-Waipahu-Ewa, would face Kymberly Pine, R-Ewa Beach-Iroquois Point; and Mark Hashem, D-Hahaione Valley-Aina Haina, would compete against Barbara Marumoto, R-Kalani Valley-Diamond Head.
