Email sent to Hawaii Republicans September 14, 2011
Yesterday was an extremely exciting day for us as Republicans. In the two special elections for the U.S. Congress, two Republicans were victorious, sending a clear message to Washington that our nation must change course.
In the race for New York’s 9th Congressional District, Congressman-elect Bob Turner won by a staggering 8-point victory in a district held by a Democrat since 1923. In Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District, Congressman-elect Mark Amodei won by a landslide 22 points in a district that carried both President Obama in 2008 and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in 2010.
Less than a week after the President presented his jobs plan, Americans voted to send two new Republicans to Washington—an overwhelming rebuke of the Obama Administration and its policies!
Americans across the nation are making their voices heard. This great country needs fiscally responsible public leaders. The call for change is sweeping through the entire country.
As Hawaii Republicans, we have an enormous opportunity in 2012 with Charles Djou already running for the Hawaii’s 1st Congressional District and an open U.S. Senate seat for Hawaii. We can help Hawaii be a part of the movement to change the course of our great nation.
We will accomplish this mission at hand if we are true to our principles of liberty, limited government, individual responsibility, fiscal accountability and equality of opportunity.
