OHA hosts second series of Kakaako meetings

News Release from Office of Hawaiian Affairs

The Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) will hold a second round of community meetings to inform its beneficiaries of the latest updates on the Kakaako land settlement proposal.

The tentative land deal proposed by Gov. Neil Abercrombie would give OHA 30 acres of property in Kakaako valued at an estimated $200 million. If approved by the state Legislature, this agreement will finally resolve claims relating to OHA’s share of public land trust revenues from November 7, 1978 to June 30, 2012.

At the February community meetings, OHA will provide a status update on the Kakaako land settlement proposal.

The public is invited to attend any of the 11 informational meetings that will be held in communities statewide. The public also may email comments or questions to Kakaako.comments@oha.org
