Djou: Look forward to 2012

Below is a commentary published yesterday in Hawaii Reporter highlighting the weaknesses in Hawaii’s one-party congressional delegation.

As we look forward to 2012, I remain disappointed with our delegation's adherence to a partisan agenda that places party loyalty above the best interests of Hawaii's residents and our nation. If we are to protect and advance Hawaii's best interests in our nation's capital, we need a balanced delegation with representatives who can and will work with both Republicans and Democrats alike to find solutions to the grave issues facing our state and nation.

The last election, while an amazing experience, took an incredible toll on my family. I've never, however, stopped caring about our state and have continued to advocate for fiscal responsibility at all levels of our government. Troubled by the lack of bipartisan leadership by Hawaii's representatives in the US House, I have begun thinking about how I can best serve the people of State of Hawaii.

As always, I appreciate your support and feedback. Aloha and best wishes.
