Health Care Town Hall Meeting: City Councilman Charles Djou Hosting at McKinley High Cafeteria Click here for directions

With no planned town hall meetings during recess from our congressional representatives, Councilman Charles Djou is stepping up to provide a forum for our concerns on health care.  Come voice your opinion!

Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Linda Rasmussen and other experts will speak and field questions at forum sponsored by Honolulu Councilmember Charles Djou.

The meeting will be in the cafeteria of McKinley High School on Tuesday, August 25th.  It will begin at 5:30pm and end at 7:00pm, so be sure to arrive early so you don't miss anything.

NEWS RELEASE Aug 19, 2009

Honolulu City Councilmember Charles K. Djou (Waikiki, East Honolulu), candidate for U.S. House of Representatives, reacted to comments made by President Obama and U.S. Representative Neil Abercrombie.
“The President has correctly diagnosed America’s need for health care reform, but Congress' prescription is worse than the disease.  The public continues to raise serious and legitimate concerns over the massive government expansion needed to implement Congress' healthcare proposal,” stated Councilmember Djou.  “Congressman Abercrombie’s demonizing of individuals who raise these concerns is unhelpful to a constructive dialogue on health care reform.”

Djou supports health care reform, but is disappointed that the current Congressional proposal does not include medical malpractice tort reform, the sale of interstate health insurance, and individual tax deduction for health insurance.  Djou's reforms would bring down the cost of health care and improve its quality without a government take over of the healthcare system.
