HNN: Former Lt. Gov. Aiona to run for governor

Former Hawaii Lt. Governor James "Duke" Aiona says he will run for governor in the upcoming election. He broke the news in a call this morning to 95.5 the Fish with Dawn O'Brien. O'Brien had been teasing a mystery call from a candidate for Governor since yesterday....

Aiona had been mulling over a run for Governor. According to David Chang, of the Republican Party, Aiona wanted a "soft launch." He decided not to hold any press conference or put out a press release.
