Have Medical Professionals Been Forgotten Now That the Vaccine Has Arrived?

US OF LOVE wants to ensure they aren’t.

News Release from US OF LOVE

Art heals. Just ask local health care workers in Kailua, Hawaii who viewed and participated in the latest US OF LOVE art installation by artist, Freddy Bosche.

New York based multidisciplinary artist, Freddy Bosche, created an interactive art installation resembling a giant postcard where people can express their gratitude. Local O’ahu community members collaborated with the artist to write inspiring messages to health care workers. Those involved in the interactive piece included children of first responders, university students, parents, and even a pediatric cancer survivor.

Nurse Heather Bagley said of the experience, “I loved the support from the community. It felt special to be with a group of people that cared about health care workers, and wanted to show it in a unique and beautiful way. The energy surrounding the event was positive, and light....which is a stark contrast to how it feels in the ICUs.”

The oversized postcard measures eight by twelve feet long is now on display at Castle Medical Center for doctors, nurses, staff and anyone coming to the hospital- where the public is currently invited to write on it while it stands. Castle’s Senior Chaplain, Sara-May Colón, said upon seeing the installation, “I just think this artwork is beautiful because it recognizes all the different multi facets of a hospital and all the people that are doing epic things that no one may even know about. It’s a great way for them to be recognized as heroes. Because they’re not necessarily running the frontlines, but they’re the ones running the marathon the longest.”

Artist Freddy Bosche is the curator of this thoughtful interactive piece. US OF LOVE is a movement founded by Bosche that creates interactive art to heal and inspire. Bosche said, “I believe there is power in interactive art because it values self expression, encourages dialogue, heals heartaches, and embraces our differences.”

Freddy Bosche’s work has been shown throughout the world, it’s showcased in the Palm Springs Art Museum, and his David Bowie Memorial was featured in the New York Times.

US OF LOVE encourages everyone to write their own love letters, post on social media, and hashtag #usoflove.
