Statistics on Egg Prices Honolulu Retail Market, April 2025

Egg prices in the Honolulu retail market were mixed in April 2025. The benchmark price for a dozen large, locally produced conventional eggs increased marginally by 0.7% to $9.58 compared to the previous month. In contrast, the price of conventional mainland eggs declined modestly by 1.5% over the same period. The price range for both local and mainland-sourced eggs narrowed, suggesting more consistent pricing across retailers. Meanwhile, prices for larger quantity cartons (18-count), experienced a slight decline.
The price of locally produced organic eggs increased sharply by 18.8%, to $12.07 per dozen, in the lead up to the Easter holiday. The price for mainland-imported organic eggs also increased, though more modestly, by 2.6% to $9.74 per dozen. As a result, the average price differential between locally produced and U.S. imported organic eggs increased to $2.33 per dozen, up from 67 cents previously….
