HAWAII REPUBLICAN PARTY PREPARES FOR THE 2025 ELECTION OF NEW EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP

Lihue, Hawaii - On a beautiful Memorial Day weekend hundreds of dedicated Hawaii Republicans gathered at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall to hold their bi-annual election of State Executive leaders. Building on the momentum of the success of the 2024 General election outcomes locally and nationally, members spent two days planning for the future of the party and electing eight men and women from different areas of expertise including from the business, education, military, and nonprofit sectors.
Community leader and founder of Fathers and Mothers for Children, Arthur Hannemann was elected State Chair for the 2025-2027 term.
Also elected Sunday were:
● Shirlene Ostrov (Retired Air Force Colonel & former HRP two term State Chair) was elected Vice Chair of Coordinated Campaigns and will be responsible for oversight and organization of the Coordinated Campaign Program;
● Rep. Bob McDermott (former Conservative served from 1996 to 2002 and 2012 to 2022) was elected Vice Chair of Campaign Recruitment & Training;
● Steve Yoder (former 3 year term Kauai County Chair and State House Rep candidate) was elected Vice Chair of Communications;
● Jackie Beckman (has spent her life serving both her community and the HRP) was elected Vice Chair of Community Service;
● Susan Duffy (Hawaii Federation of Republican Women and board member for Fathers and Mothers for Children) was elected Vice-Chair of Coalitions;
● Leslie Jones was elected to continue her role as State Secretary;
● Dennis Mataia was elected State Treasurer.
"My sole focus in these next eighteen months is to renew, unify, and grow our membership, and elect Conservative Republicans on November 3, 2026 to County, State and Federal office," said Chair Hannemann. "We have seen a shift toward conservative values in Hawaii. We have more Republicans in office than in the last twenty years, and our plan is to continue to increase our presence and impact at all levels."
