The first- and second-prize winners in each division will also have their essays published in the magazine of the Coolidge Foundation

The Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation, based in Plymouth, Vermont, is inviting high school and college students nationwide to participate in an essay competition about whether the 1920 federal law known as the Jones Act has helped or harmed America. The word limit for the essays is 1,000 for high school students and 1,500 for college students. The entry deadline is Sept. 10.
