City announces initial Skyline Segment 2 ridership

HONOLULU – The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Transportation Services (DTS) announces ridership numbers for Skyline Segment 2, which opened last Thursday on October 16.
Thursday October 16: 11,879 rides (normal operations)
Friday October 17: 10,471 rides (normal operations)
Saturday October 18: 19,562 rides (Free-Fare Weekend)
Sunday October 19: 20,056 rides (Free-Fare Weekend)
The newest five miles of guideway and four additional stations connect Skyline to major employment centers near Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, Lagoon Drive and Māpunapuna industrial areas, and the Kalihi Transit Center on Middle Street. As riders explored the expanded system, DTS received valuable feedback that will help DTS received valuable feedback that will help improve the rider experience.
