2026 Hawaii Legislative Session – Firearms Bills Tracker

We have completed our review of all firearms-related bills introduced so far in the 2026 legislative session.
Our team has identified and tracked every bill that could impact firearm ownership, carry, storage, penalties, and related rights here in Hawaiʻi.

At this time, we are monitoring 18 bills we OPPOSE and 1 bill we SUPPORT. (not including the zombie bills)
These proposals include:
• Firearm buyback funding programs
• Expanded felony classifications and mandatory minimum sentencing
• New restrictions tied to protective orders and trespass laws
• Firearm forfeiture provisions
• Mandatory business signage regarding firearms and knives
• Additional reporting requirements
• New regulatory offices and restitution funds funded by firearm industry licensing
• Carry license conditions, including electric gun requirements
• Restrictions on certain calibers and firearm parts

What happens next
