Secret Furloughs? Two More Executive Orders Appear on Abercrombie Website

by Andrew Walden

The following Executive Orders have appeared on the Governor’s Website. They were issued three weeks ago with no public announcement:

• Executive Order 11-24, November 29, 2011: Executive Order Granting Adjustments for Civil Service Employees Excluded from Bargaining Unit 01
• Executive Order 11-25, December 1, 2011:Executive Order Granting Adjustments for Leaves of Absence for Civil Service Employees to Serve in Certain Exempt Appointed Positions

The “adjustments” granted in the first Executive Order consist of 27 DIL-WOP days (furloughs) given to non-union Civil Service employees.

The second Executive Order allows civil service employees the opportunity to return to their civil service position after accepting a political appointment.
