Banning freedom one ordinance at a time
By Andrew Walden @ 11:16 AM :: 3269 Views

Banning plastic bags – like banning other legal products (light bulbs, electric water heaters, etc)-- is much more than an inconvenience. Our individual-freedom-based “people first” way of life is being hijacked by a so-called environmental “earth first” dictatorship.

This new eco-extremist regime is more and more showing it true colors by putting its global green (and Red) agenda above your unalienable God-given personal rights. Alleged planetary well-being stands above your personal well-being and your private property rights. Socialistic ‘sustainability’ is above free markets.

They want you to change your behavior and conform to their party line. And they don’t give a rip if their arbitrary property rules, product bans, energy restrictions, endangered species acts and arrogant punishments stop you from building your home, make you suffer at the pump, or at the grocery store, or cost you your business. They don’t care that millions of kids die every year from malaria due to their cruel and unscientific DDT ban. Their global messianic mission must prevail at all costs.

The environmentalists’ socialist incrementalism is killing America bit by bit, ban by ban, by a thousand cuts inflicted one at a time. Like the smoking ban: it’s ban here a little and there a little, direct smoke to passive smoke, closed spaces to open spaces, the beat goes on. Banning plastic bags is just the beginning; all plastic products are on their hit list. Oil is the engine of personal freedom, so oil must be banned. And plastics are made from oil. So ban oil’s direct use by banning its indirect use. If their “alternatives” to oil bankrupt and cripple the country--that’s their goal.

They are putting their choice above our freedom of choice. They believe themselves qualified to judge that there is too much consuming going on. Too much progress. Too much pursuit of happiness. Too many choices. Instead they seek to impose one government-approved size that supposedly fits all. The will of their religion/political party rules over the will of the people. ACCEPT IT OR BE PUNISHED. SHUT UP AND DO WHAT YOU ARE TOLD! THE COUNCIL HAS SPOKEN!
