Why Does Hirono Want to Cut $500B From Medicare?
By News Release @ 3:41 AM :: 6102 Views :: Energy, Environment, National News, Ethics

From www.Lingle2012.com

Mazie Hirono’s extreme party loyalty prohibits her from considering and ultimately supporting policy changes to the health care legislation that would be better for the people of Hawaii.

In a shameless plea to raise money, Mazie has again stated that this election for Hawaii’s next U.S. Senator is about President Obama and his policies. Mazie simply doesn’t understand that this election is not about the White House or any single piece of legislation. She doesn’t get that this election is about us, the people of Hawaii, and about what life will be like for us in the years ahead.

Mazie, a sitting Congresswoman in the most unpopular Congress in history, should know the health care bill as written hurts seniors by cutting $500 billion from Medicare. If that isn’t bad enough, the bill limits medical advances by taxing new medical inventions and the high tech jobs they create.

Whether she will admit it or not, Mazie Hirono is leading the charge for big cuts to Medicare. That’s certainly something she doesn’t put in an email to her supporters! Mazie is hurting our kupuna because she is unwilling to differ from her national party leadership, unwilling to debate the issues to determine better solutions, and unwilling to think beyond the talking points that she is handed by her party leadership.

Instead of admitting that the health care legislation needs to be fixed because it will hurt Hawaii small businesses and families, Mazie is following her party blindly, without regard to the people it impacts. As written, this legislation will cause families to pay more and get less coverage. Again, we don’t see this information in her email pleas.

We need a leader who will put the interest of Hawaii's people above their party. Governor Lingle is committed to putting "people first."
