By News Release @ 3:55 PM :: 6688 Views :: Kauai County, DHHL

Calling All Community Producers: Akakū is holding an Election Correspondent Workshop on Wednesday, July 25, 2012.

Akakū is holding an Election Correspondent Workshop on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 1:00pm and again at 5:00pm at 333 Dairy Road, Suite 104 in Kahului.
With election season fast approaching, we’re asking you to contribute to our live coverage. Along with candidate interviews and the reading of results, Akakūʻs live coverage includes pre-produced "Issue Segments." These are 3-minute pieces that focus on specific issues important to Maui County; Issues such as water, alternative energy, development, affordable housing, etc.
While Akakū produces many of these pieces, we would like to hear more about the issues that are close to you. We’re looking for 3-minute informational segments that focus on a particular issue and are unbiased and factual.
If you, or someone you know, have an issue in mind or if you are interested in producing a piece but need ideas for topics, please attend our Election Correspondent Workshop on Wednesday, July 25, 2012. For more information contact Chivo Ching-Johnson or Sayble Bissen at (808) 871-5554 or email
