CONGRESSWOMAN HIRONO NOT SHOWING UP FOR WORK, MISSING VOTES

HONOLULU - Governor Linda Lingle's U.S. Senate Campaign Committee, released a new television spot today highlighting Mazie Hirono's ineffective Congressional record.

"Since taking office, Mazie Hirono sponsored 49 bills and zero has passed into law. And she missed 127 votes so far this year, many of them pertaining to important issues like job creation, the environment, and federal support for student loans," said Campaign Manager Bob Lee. "Hawaii needs an effective Senator who will show up for work, cast votes, and work on behalf of all the people of Hawaii. That's what we expect. And, that's what we deserve," Lee continued.

"While Hirono is trying to convince voters in Hawaii that she makes a difference in the House, the truth is her colleagues looked to her desk and saw an empty chair far too many times this year. Governor Lingle is committed to going to Washington, D.C. to work day-in and day-out to produce tangible results for all the people of Hawaii," Bob Lee concluded.

Congresswoman Mazie Hirono missed votes on bills to lower student loan interest rates(1), protect the environment(2), and encourage job creation(3).

"Do the Math 2.0" is airing on all the major television stations and cable and is available online by clicking here.
