Five Business Groups Support Lingle

News Release from

HONOLULU – The General Contractors Association of Hawaii (GCA), the local chapter of the national Associated General Contractors of America, is supporting Governor Linda Lingle for Hawaii’s open U.S. Senate seat. GCA is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year and is an organization comprised of over 600 general contractors, subcontractors, and construction related firms and remains the largest construction association in the state of Hawaii.

“I’m humbled by the support of so many hard working builders and contractors, and I will continue working with members of the building community to support policies that get one of our state’s largest industries back to work,” Governor Lingle said at a breakfast with GCA Hawaii members this morning.

GCA joins a growing coalition of business leaders supporting Linda Lingle for U.S. Senate, including the Associated Builders and Contractors, Maui Chamber of Commerce, and the Hawaii Restaurant Association, as well as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The General Contractors Association of Hawaii was formed in 1932 by general contractors from the four major islands of Hawaii. The General Contractors Association of Hawaii is the industry leader dedicated to skill, integrity and responsibility.

The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) was established in 1918 and is a full service national trade association with a nationwide network of 95 exceptional chapters, AGC represents nearly 30,000 leading firms in the industry.
