The Party rescinded its paid rally time policy today, offering Case an opportunity to address the Convention on Saturday afternoon....

Among the most likely voters, Case enjoys a 46%-45% lead with 9% undecided. His lead increases with larger Democratic primary voter turnout....

U.S. Senate Candidate Ed Case today accepted an invitation from Hawaii Pacific University to sponsor a substitute debate with his Democratic opponent, Congresswoman Mazie Hirono, this Thursday, May 24....

DC status quo defenders have contributed about $700,000 to Mazie....

On March 6, House Bill 679, an NRA instructor liability protection bill, was amended and passed in the state House by a 47 to 4 vote. This bill is now pending in the state Senate Judiciary Committee.

Mazie has accepted none because she fears any public exchange of views or comparison of our candidacies and has been instructed to remain behind a carefully scripted campaign front. That is conduct unbecoming a U. S. Senator."

Ed Case renews his debate challenge to Mazie Hirono ....

This is to suggest that the Democratic Party of Hawai'i host a series of statewide joint presentations with Mazie and me before primary election voting starts at the end of June....

The poll shows Ed Case ahead of Mazie Hirono in the Democratic primary 53%-37% and ahead of Linda Lingle in the general 48%-38%, and Lingle ahead of Hirono in the general 48%-43%. 

Ours is the greatest country. Not just our founding principles, but our history and our continued promise. Our freedoms, balance of majority rule and minority rights, inclusion of new peoples. It’s not always easy being an American. We make mistakes, get out of balance, rarely take a straight path to a better future. But our foundations are sound, we self-correct, and we have bettered our world at great sacrifice. By staying true to our principles and heritage in a changing world, we will prevail.

I ... prevailed in the Democratic primary matchups (for example, Case 47%, Hannemann 35%, Unsure 18%), and did best among the Democrats in a general election against presumed Republican nominee Linda Lingle (Case 49%, Lingle 37%, Unsure 14%).

For those who've asked, I remain interested in serving Hawai‘i in the U. S. Senate.

What it really comes down to is this: are we going to try new paths rather than stay on the same old broken one. This vote is a referendum on that one question; I vote yes.

This is to ask you to vote for Peter Carlisle because if it's not Carlisle it'll be Kirk Caldwell.

I like Panos Prevedouros: his energy and enthusiasm; outside-politics base and perspective; and fresh thinking and independence. We need him and many others like him to seek and serve in elective office. In this election, though, he and Carlisle are the change candidates against a status quo Caldwell; I don't want that vote to be split at the risk of Caldwell prevailing. As well, as a cautious mass transit supporter, I don't believe rail should be effectively scuttled on this vote. So for me Prevedouros is a yes, but not this one.

...I've known and worked with Hannemann for the same period, and once saw him as a leader for Hawai‘i today and tomorrow. But, as I've watched him in public office, I've come to view him as the most dangerous politician in a generation, because his talents mask an agenda which, if successful, will set Hawai‘i back a generation. He is the product and clear choice of a political machine that must end....

Editor’s Note: In other words, if Mufi Hannemann is the Democrats’ nominee for Governor, he will become the next Dan Inouye and  Hawaii will be under his thumb for the next 20-30 years.  Without a Hannemann victory, there is no Democrat ready to become the next Inouye and Hawaii will become a two-party democracy.

I'm truly excited at the opportunity to represent Hawai’i's great First Congressional District … from Makapu’u to Mililani, Waikele and Ewa Beach. I've lived and worked in the First half of my life. I represented Mānoa and Makiki for eight years in our state legislature, have crisscrossed the First in two statewide campaigns, and have addressed its needs in Congress. I know the First, and I know I can represent its 600,000 citizens well in Congress.

To my friends in Hawai’i's equally great Second Congressional, where I was born and raised and have spent the other half of my life, and whom I was fiercely proud to represent in Congress for over four years, I look forward to continuing to represent you in D.C. as well.
