Anti-Cane Burning Suit to be First Case Heard by Hawaii Environmental Court

It appears the the very first case to be heard in Hawaii's brand-new 'Environmental Court' will be a motion seeking an injunction against cane burning on Maui. 

FULL TEXT: Stop Cane Burning -- Motion for Injunction

From Notice of Hearing of Motion issued July 31 (Page 911):

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that Plaintiffs' Motion for Preliminary Injunction, will be heard by the Honorable Joseph E. Cardoza, Judge of the Environmental Court of the Second Circuit , Hoapili Hale, 2145 Main Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawai'i on September 16, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. or as soon as the parties may be heard.

A July 2 news release from Stop Cane Burning announced their lawsuit, filed on July 1, the first day of operation for Hawaii's Environmental Court.  HC&S issued a statement in response.  Both can be read here: Anti-GMO Activists Sue to Shut Down State's Last Cane Plantation.
