Hawaii Libertarians Coalesce with Other 3rd Party Activists, Elect New Leadership

by Andrew Walden

Hawaii Libertarian Party members held a convention at the Keehi Lagoon Memorial center on Oahu, August 5, 2023.

According to newly elected Hawaii Libertarian Party Chair, Brady Stewart, these are the results:

“Our newly elected executive committee consists of the following officers:

  • Chair: Brady Stewart
  • Vice Chair: Austin Martin
  • Secretary: Karl Dicks
  • Treasurer: Dan Decker
  • At-large: Will Sankey, Larry Richardson, Lahi Verschurr, Kelly Nguyen, Robert Santillan

“We are pleased to announce that we have an energetic, motivated group of individuals on board with big ideas and plans to grow our party. We are going to really focus on bringing more value to our communities in terms of education, entertainment, and a network of mutual aid. That tactic will drive the recruitment that's necessary for us to accomplish our objectives of growing the ranks and influence of the Hawaii Libertarian Party. We plan to work on improving the infrastructure of our party from website to bylaws.

“Our ultimate goal is to reduce the size and scope of government in the interest of preserving our natural rights. In this one simple principle, we stand in stark contradiction to the duopoly establishment. We recognize war and monetary inflation are the policies of crooks and compromised incompetents. We recognize that our rights to speak freely and arm ourselves against tyrants are not conferred to us through a magical piece of parchment but by light of our mere existence as beings in this realm. We are opposed to executive power grabs via mandates and emergency powers one hundred percent of the time!

“We are excited to find single issues where we can build coalitions with those who agree regardless of their political affiliation. Where you ride for freedom, we ride with you. We don't have to accept your entire platform when we focus on issues rather than collective identities. We are confident in our ability to gain members, voters, and allies in the current election cycle. Three political parties have been disqualified by the State in the prior cycle: Green, Aloha Aina, and the Constitution Parties. All of these unaffiliated independent voters are ripe pickings for the third largest party fighting for a seat at the debate table with the drones and the clones.

“Our solutions are superior to theirs because ours don't rely on force, aggression, or coercion to work. We harbor the radical view that we should incentivize peaceful, voluntary relationships and dis-incentivize coercive, predatory ones. We will strive in 2024 to have an L on the ballot in every race.”
